Should the doobie brothers be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame?

I would say they should. Some great players in that band. Michael McDonald, Patrick Simmons and Skunk Baxter to name a few. They were absolutely dominant in the seventies. I believe they won 5 Grammies in 79 or 80...back when you won a Grammy for actually being talented. "Takin' It To The Streets" is still one of the most powerful tunes ever performed. When you look at some of the garbage that gets in today, there is no question they belong there.|||Eeww god, no!|||if they can induct abba or micheal jackson, yea,

i actually like the doobie brothers so i say yea|||i thought they already were.

but if not, then yes, absolutely.|||Maybe in a "soft" year like this one was. The RNR HOF is a peculiar place nowadays.|||There is nothing wrong with the Doobie Brothers but I do not think they are influential enough to be inducted.|||Absolutely.

The term "hall of fame" is about FAME, not about quality. I don't particularly care for a lot of Steve Miller's stuff; however, the man has been going strong and solid and successfully for 43 years now, and that qualifies him for the Hall of Fame. By the same token, the Doobie Brothers amassed the fame required to be Hall of Fame inductees, even if their later Michael McDonald-dominated songs were far inferior to their early songs.|||Considering some of the one hit wonders that have been inducted, why not? The Doobies had an awful run of hits in the 70s.|||Honestly, someday yes. But not before:

Iron Maiden

Scorpions

Kiss
